How we Serve

our community

Hand2Hand

Hand2Hand is a ministry providing food to at-risk children in our community.  We partner with Oakridge Schools to provide backpacks full of food to over 120 children during the school year, and these food bags are intended for the weekends when the children don’t have access to healthy meals at their school.  Donations are always accepted; please contact the church office for the latest grocery list or if you’d like to volunteer with the ministry.

Prison Ministries

Fellowship Church is the Western Michigan hub for a ministry called “One Day With God”, and this ministry helps to foster family reconciliation for prison inmates.  The program involves bringing the children of inmates behind bars for a day of fun and activities with their incarcerated parent.  The goal of the ministry is to help build positive relationships between children and their incarcerated parent, and you can watch a video of the ministry here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5VV0og-a7w).

Encompass Ministry

Encompass Ministry is a ministry for children and adults with special needs.  In addition to a Wednesday evening worship service, the ministry also offers a drop-in activity center on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the church. This ministry is open to anyone with developmental disabilities, and we would love to have you join us!  Please contact the church office for more information, or you can click here (https://vimeo.com/213752432) to watch a video clip of the ministry.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is an addiction recovery ministry where men and women share their experiences, their strength, and their hope with each other.  There are no dues or fees for AA membership, and AA’s primary purpose is to help people achieve sobriety and stay sober.  Meetings are held in Room 23 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. – Please park in the East Lot and use the door near the gymnasium.

Kids Belong Foster Care Closet

The Kids Belong Foster Care Closet is a ministry that provides free clothing, shoes, toys, and other children’s items to local foster care and refugee families.  The Closet is open every Thursday evening at Fellowship Church from 5:00-7:00, and all foster care & refugee families are welcome.  The ministry is always accepting donations of new or very gently used items, and financial donations are accepted as well.  Please contact the church office for more information.

Kids Hope

Kids Hope is a partnership between Fellowship Church and Oakridge Schools involving one-on-one mentoring relationships between at-risk children in the school and church members.  The mentoring involves both tutoring and relationship building between the student and the mentor, and mentors are required to have security checks done before volunteering.  To learn more about this ministry visit https://www.kidshopeusa.org.

Bicycle ministry

Fellowship Church began a bicycle ministry to help families in our community who are unable to purchase a bike for their children or for themselves. We take donations of bikes in working condition, fix them up, and donate them to local families. You can help support this ministry by donating good used bicycles or by donating money that will go towards parts and helmets.  If you know of someone who needs a bike, please contact the church office to make a referral.

Hope-full hearts

Hope-Full Hearts is a Christ-centered ministry that provides hope, healing and support for those who are grieving the death of a loved one.  The ministry is for both children and adults, and families are always welcome.  Sessions take place on Monday evenings, and new groups begin every fall.  Please email karen@fellowshipmuskegon.org for more information and/or to see about registering for the group.
Our next 6-week session begins on Monday, September 19, 2022.
